Rebecca Biernat is a trial attorney with 20 years of litigation experience.
Her practice focuses on the defense of consumer product manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies in mass tort or single-plaintiff product liability actions. Experienced in all phases of litigation in federal and California state courts, Rebecca has served as second chair in a product liability trial, has tried several criminal cases to verdict, and specializes in case development and defense strategy, depositions, motion practice, defending and preparing company witnesses, and expert witness development.
Rebecca serves on national counsel teams and as local counsel for California litigation and is currently national counsel for a large appliance manufacturer. She also has represented an automobile manufacturer in airbag failure-to-deploy litigation, nutrition supplement manufacturers in product liability and consumer protection actions, and a large retailer, a chemical manufacturer, and an oil company in personal injury and premises liability actions. In addition, she counsels clients on Proposition 65 compliance and has defended Proposition 65 failure to warn and groundwater contamination actions.
Rebecca provides pro bono representation for juvenile immigrants seeking asylum and special immigrant juvenile visas and has successfully represented minors in Immigration Court.
