Anna Nelson
Anna Nelson uses her extensive patent drafting and prosecution skills to help clients obtain patent protection in a variety of technical fields.
Anna focuses her practice on patent prosecution and preparation. She has prepared hundreds of office action responses and more than 100 new patent applications for clients in the electrical (semiconductor processing, optical devices), materials (polymer, metallurgical, composites), and mechanical industries.
In crafting patent applications involving complex technologies, Anna excels in her ability to use relatively simple terms and drawings to clearly capture the problem and solution. Since earning her law degree in 2024, she has embraced her growing role in assisting clients in clearance and noninfringement opinions.
Before passing the bar exam, Anna worked full-time as a patent agent while attending law school at night. In school, she expanded her knowledge of IP law through her coursework in trademarks, copyrights, and business agreements. She has worked with first-year law students as a teaching assistant, helping them with legal writing assignments, including memos and motions.
Anna is an active member of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, increasing her understanding of various topics in IP law and developing her professional skills.
Away from work, Anna enjoys biking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys relaxing with her husband and two cats, Sam and Honey.
