Tucker Ellis Joins Mansfield Rule 4.0 to Increase Law Firm Equity & Inclusion
July 2020
Tucker Ellis LLP has joined Mansfield Rule 4.0 to expand the firm’s commitment to equity and inclusion. The Mansfield Rule, administered by Diversity Lab, addresses the dearth of female and diverse attorneys in positions of law firm leadership by setting benchmarks to measure whether firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent female lawyers, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. Tucker Ellis is one of 117 major law firms participating in the program.
“It has always been important to us as a firm to advance equity and inclusion both within Tucker Ellis and in the communities where we work and live,” said Tucker Ellis Managing Partner Joe Morford. “By setting benchmarks and requiring us to track and measure our progress, the Mansfield Rule allows us to actively demonstrate our commitment to put in the necessary work to increase equity and inclusion within our firm and advance it in the legal community as a whole.”
“Tucker Ellis is honored to join the Mansfield Rule because we know that with the help, guidance, and support of experts like the Diversity Lab and member law firms of similar mind, we can make Tucker Ellis a beacon and a model for others – where we all work and thrive as one, without thought of our distinctions,” he added.
Diversity Lab works with participating firms to measure their outcomes annually and, based on those outcomes, redefines the Mansfield Rule program to ensure that the goal of diversifying firm leadership progresses as inclusively and impactfully as possible.
