To honor and celebrate the importance of Juneteenth, we are proud to say that Tucker Ellis has joyfully committed to observing it as an annual paid holiday for all of our employees. To make our celebration more meaningful, we marked our inaugural commemoration by inviting everyone in each of our six Long Hallways to enjoy a special Juneteenth luncheon provided by local Black-owned caterers on June 15.

Additionally, while we enjoyed lunch together, each Hallway played several Juneteenth videos on a loop to learn about the significance of the holiday. The Declaration of Independence provides that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” We celebrate our independence as a nation on the 4^th of July. On Juneteenth – while we recognize that there is still more work to be done to secure those Rights – we celebrate emancipation and what was a second declaration of independence claiming those Rights for all.
