Sherry Knutson was selected as a faculty member for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s 45th Annual Trial Academy. The seven-day intensive defense trial advocacy training program blended small group faculty instruction and demonstration with individual student participation and realistically simulated the elements and environment surrounding a trial. Sherry, team leader for the plaintiff faculty team, conducted a mock cross-examination of the defendant’s toxicology expert during the faculty demonstrations, co-taught a section on “Refreshing Recall, Admitting Exhibits, and Proper Impeachment,” and worked with a group of seven students to provide one-on-one guidance and constructive criticism as the students engaged in demonstrations in two mock trial scenarios. The Trial Academy was held July 29-August 4 at Stanford Law School in Palo Alto, California.
