The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) has selected Melissa Kelly to serve on its Certified Grievance Committee. The Certified Grievance Committee carries out the functions set forth in Rule V of the Ohio Supreme Court Rules for the Government of the Bar, including investigating allegations of attorney misconduct and mental illness, alcohol and other drug abuse or disorder affecting attorneys, and initiation and prosecution of complaints as a result of investigations initiated under Rule V. The Committee also encourages adherence by attorneys and judges to high ethical standards and maintains public confidence in the integrity of the legal profession. New members are appointed by the CMBA President after consultation with the officers and existing members of the Committee and serve one-year terms with the potential for reappointment for additional consecutive terms.
