July 2012
Tucker Ellis LLP is proud to announce that attorney Rebecca Biernat has been recognized by Legal Services for Children (LSC) as a Pro Bono Advocate honoree for her outstanding service to Bay Area youth. Ms. Biernat was honored at the inaugural celebration of “An Evening With LSC” on June 12.
For the past seven years, Ms. Biernat has been a member of LSC’s pro bono panel, composed of more than 100 attorneys contributing free legal assistance and advocacy to Bay Area children and youth, and in 2007 she was named “Legal Services for Children Pro Bono Attorney of the Year.” In addition to her past contributions to the organization’s mission, Ms. Biernat recently provided critical counsel and legal representation for a youth seeking a Special Immigrant Juvenile Visa. Other pro bono work that Ms. Biernat has performed for LSC includes an application for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and an asylum case representing three children from El Salvador.
“Giving back to our communities is a big part of who we are at Tucker Ellis,” said Managing Partner Joe Morford. “We’re proud that LSC has recognized Rebecca’s extraordinary contributions with this well-deserved recognition.”
Ms. Biernat is a member of Tucker Ellis’s Trial Department where she practices in the areas of medical & pharmaceutical and mass tort & product liability.
