John McCaffrey has been appointed by Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit to serve as Chair of the Northern District of Ohio – Federal Public Defender Reappointment Evaluation Committee to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Committee solicits the views of those in a position to evaluate the incumbent’s performance, as well as the quality of services provided by the Federal Public Defender Office, and submits a report and recommendation on reappointment to the Court of Appeals. John also serves on the Ohio Public Defender Commission, a nine-member board appointed by the Governor and the Supreme Court of Ohio to oversee the Office of the Ohio Public Defender.
