On February 26, Deloitte and The Wall Street Journal Risk & Compliance Journal posted “Legal Counsel: Navigating the Risks of AI,” featuring commentary by Jennifer Steinmetz. The article focuses on identifying risks and creating a framework for corporate governance to “help create a common language around AI” and “drive a culture of compliance.”

Jen said, “Regarding litigation, we are starting to see increasing claims centered around the general argument that certain LLMs are using private and/or copyrighted information to train the AI model, and therefore, allegedly violate various protective laws. These will be important cases to watch as the litigation involving GenAI continues to build.”
