On August 24, Motherboard interviewed David Steele on the legality of buying domain names for the purpose of harassing one’s enemies. The story was prompted by news that Martin Shkreli, convicted of securities fraud, purchased domain names associated with a number of journalists who criticized him for the sole purpose of customizing the sites to mock them.
