Client Prevails in Three-Week Pelvic Mesh Jury Trial
April 2019
On April 17, Johnson & Johnson unit Ethicon Inc. prevailed in Krolikowski v. Ethicon Women’s Health and Urology in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. The plaintiff had claimed that Ethicon’s pelvic mesh product for urinary incontinence was defective, exacerbating her incontinence and causing her pain. After a three-week trial, the jury found no causal relationship between Ethicon’s conduct and the plaintiff’s injuries.
Representing Ethicon in the case were Jennifer Steinmetz and Julie Callsen of Tucker Ellis LLP, Sean Gallagher of Bartlit Beck LLP, Kimberly Gustafson Bueno of Scott Douglas & McConnico LLP, and Andrea La’Verne Edney of Butler Snow LLP.
