June 2018
On June 22, Brian Brookey was highlighted in Daily eBriefs, a newsletter of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA). LACBA recognized Brian in its Member Benefit Spotlight section as the organization celebrates 140 years of service to the Los Angeles legal community and recognizes past and present bar leaders in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month.
LACBA recognized Brian for his active involvement with the Trevor Project, where he has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide suicide prevention and crisis intervention services to at-risk LGBTQ youth; his previous work on the board of the LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles; his involvement with Tucker Ellis’s Equity and Inclusion Committee; his charter membership in UCLA’s Williams Institute Alumni Network Leadership Team; and his pro bono representation of an LGBTQ student group when it was accused of trademark infringement by the students’ Evangelical Christian university.
