Pat Pascarella and Justin Rice spoke at DRI’s Annual Meeting, held October 22-26 in San Francisco.

As courts continue to become more aggressive in the application of the “pattern exception” to Noerr-Pennington immunity, companies must exercise greater caution with regard to repetitive, aggressive filings before courts, regulatory tribunals, and agencies. Pat discussed these developments and offered guidance on how to recognize risks and advise clients.

Justin discussed several challenging issues involving juries and juror misconduct that confront lawyers from voir dire to post-verdict. Justin’s presentation offered helpful guidance to a combined session of the Young Lawyers and Trial Tactics Committees.
