On October 16, John Slagter spoke at the Ohio State Bar Association’s (OSBA) Advanced Commercial Real Estate Seminar. In his presentation “Land Use, Takings and Zoning Law,” John addressed longstanding precedent in Knick v. Township of Scott, recently overturned by the United States Supreme Court to permit property owners to immediately file suit in federal court for a Fifth Amendment takings claim. He also reviewed the constitutional and statutory issues associated with land use matters and provide practical advice for those faced with zoning issues.
