Four Tucker Ellis Attorneys Speak at FBA 2016 Annual Meeting and Convention
September 20, 2016
Four Tucker Ellis attorneys were panelists at the Federal Bar Association’s 2016 Annual Meeting and Convention. Irene Keyse-Walker joined other appellate litigators, as well as judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, to discuss effective appellate advocacy and common mistakes. Exploring the use of a monitor in reforming law enforcement agencies with a pattern of excessive force, Sanford Watson joined Matthew Barge – the federal court-appointed monitor overseeing Cleveland’s federal consent decree – to offer insights to those handling justice department investigations or use of deadly force cases. On a panel discussing the practical impact of the Amended Federal Civil Rules from the perspectives of plaintiff counsel, defense counsel, and the bench, Rita Maimbourg represented the defense counsel perspective. Finally, Rob Frost, Chairman of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County, focused on election law issues, including voter registration, early and absentee voting rules, provisional votes, ballot counting, and voting technology. The convention was held September 14-17 in Cleveland.
