On March 13, Chad Eggspuehler participated in a debate sponsored by The Federalist Society on “The LGBT Movement v. Religious Liberty.” Chad joined Case Western Reserve University School of Law Emeritus Professor George Dent to discuss the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States in Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colo. Civil Rights Comm’n. The landmark case introduced the broader issue of conflicts between laws banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and claims of free speech and freedom of religion. Chad and Professor Dent discussed the status of the law and shared insights on these conflicts.
