On October 11, Art Mertes moderated “Board Strategies and Structures for Managing Risk,” a top “insider” panel presented by the Private Directors Association (PDA) and co-sponsored by Tucker Ellis and PNC Bank. Geared toward middle-market growth companies, the program provided critical tools for private equity-, venture capital-,  and family office-backed boards to assess the causes and effects of increased liability and exposure of risk; the types of risks that companies and boards are facing, including future trends; understanding the impacts of failing to proactively address risks; creating committee structures and policies; employing best practices; and deploying third-party resources.
