On June 26, Tony Vacanti spoke at the 2021 Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association (OPAA) Summer Workshop. Tony’s presentation, part of the workshop’s civil training section, reviewed best practices for boards of zoning appeals (BZA) to implement when conducting hearings, including use and area variance hearings and other administrative appeals. Tony also provided a primer on the characteristics of a proper quasi-judicial hearing, an explanation of use and area variance factors, and an update on recent zoning decisions and developments.
