Chris Hewitt and Jayne Juvan represented Eagle Specialty Materials, LLC (ESM) in its purchase of the Eagle Butte and Belle Ayr thermal coal mines located in the Powder River Basin in Campbell County, Wyoming, from Contura Energy, Inc. and Blackjewel L.L.C. The first phase of the transaction, completed in October 2019, is described in Contura Energy’s press release here. On May 29, 2020, the parties completed the final phase of the purchase. Chris and Jayne advised ESM on the merger, which brings the transaction to a close with a positive result for the companies and the many stakeholders involved.
