On May 5, Chelsea Mikula co-presented a webinar sponsored by Business Valuation Resources (BVR). “Projection Issues Raised in ESOP Litigation” drew on the presenters’ collective professional experience in the areas of (1) performing financial advisory services for ESOP trustees, (2) serving as trustee for the ESOP trust, and (3) serving as counsel for ERISA fiduciaries. The webinar was designed to raise awareness of the valuation, fiduciary, and legal issues related to ESOP sponsor company prospective financial information. Geared toward ESOP valuation advisers and other ESOP professional advisers, attendees learned due diligence procedures and other tools to avoid some of the common pitfalls related to relying on questionable sponsor company financial projections.
