On April 17, Law360 quoted Carl Muller on the ways that COVID-19 will change the workplace. Carl commented that it isn’t only office-based businesses that will allow remote work, but even employers in sectors that typically haven’t been considered viable for telework may allow some employees to work remotely.

“They’re learning that a good deal of work can be done effectively by working remotely,” Carl said. “I’ve seen some employers asking and discussing, ‘Can we reduce our company’s brick-and-mortar footprint once we return to normal and thereby reduce our operating expenses going forward?’ … I think we’re going to see service firms as well as the admin components of manufacturing take a hard look at working remotely and they may make some permanent changes.”
