Monica Williams Monroe Lends Support to Coalition of Black Excellence
December 2018
Monica Williams Monroe is one of several volunteer lawyers who contribute their time and talents to further the efforts of the Coalition of Black Excellence (CBE). Monica currently serves as the CBE Impact Nonprofit Program Director.
In a LinkedIn post, CBE founder and CEO Angela Johnson said:
“Never underestimate the value of an amazing legal team! When we decided to start Coalition of Black Excellence as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, I had no idea how many federal and state filings we would need to submit or how many contracts and agreements would need to be drafted or reviewed. I’m so grateful to have an amazing team of legal volunteer leads that have found time, at all hours of the day, to provide invaluable legal support amidst their demanding legal careers. These lawyers are amazing! A million thanks to Nakeena Taylor, Taylor Weaver, Monica Williams Monroe, Nikkisha Smith, and Eva Pulliam!”
Coalition of Black Excellence is designed to unify and uplift the Black community through professional development and community events. It achieves its mission to elevate the Black community by building bridges across generations, socio-economic groups and industries; promoting cross-sector business development; and inspiring the Black community by amplifying Black professional achievement and celebrating Black culture. CBE activates its vision through CBE Week, a week-long gathering comprised of various activities designed to bring together talented black professionals across different sectors (sports, legal, tech, health, finance, etc.) to exchange ideas and business opportunities and to strategically talk about how to contribute to the advancement of the Black community.
