On April 24, David Galin was a featured expert in a webinar organized by FICPI Sweden, “Grace Period Rules in Various Jurisdictions – a ‘Round-the-World Tour in 2.5 Hours.” Although grace periods – which are used to give patent applicants a respite under certain circumstances – are implemented in a number of countries, the way in which they are implemented varies across the world. David focused on the pros and cons of grace periods in the United States, while other experts focused on India, Canada, the EPC and European user positions, and FICPI’s position and continuous work on substantive patent law harmonization.
