First Tucker Ellis Pipeline Program Participant Graduates from Law School
August 2017
The award-winning Tucker Ellis Pipeline Program achieved a milestone with the law school graduation of the first student to participate in it. Brandon Brown recently graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law as a member of the Class of 2017.
Brandon joined the Pipeline Program at age 13 when Tucker Ellis attorneys visited his 9th grade classroom at Cleveland Early College High School (CEC) to teach monthly law-based lessons and provide career counseling. The visits piqued Brandon’s interest in a legal career, so he also participated in the firm’s paid summer legal internship program for CEC students, as well as the CEC Mock Trial Team, coached by Tucker Ellis attorneys. During law school, Brandon returned to CEC to coach its Mock Trial Team along with Tucker Ellis attorneys.
The Tucker Ellis Pipeline Program – intended to increase diversity in the legal profession – includes a partnership with CEC in Cleveland, as well as job shadow programs with high school legal academies in the firm’s San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
