November 21, 2024

On November 21, Sherry Knutson spoke on two panels at the Trial Lawyers of Mass Torts (TLMT) Women’s Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico.

In the first presentation, “Is It Too Late to Not Be a Lawyer? Alternate Paths From Law School,” the panelists offered valuable insights and strategies for navigating career transitions within and beyond the legal profession. They explored the reasons that many female attorneys – including successful female trial lawyers – contemplate leaving the legal profession and the factors that influence their decisions. The panelists also provided practical advice on how to evaluate career satisfaction and make informed decisions about potential career changes, as well as strategies for identifying and pursuing alternative career paths that provide both professional fulfillment and personal satisfaction.

In the second presentation, “We’re Women but Not Superwomen,” the panelists explored the significant barriers that female attorneys often face, including gender bias and underrepresentation in leadership roles. The panelists shared strategies for building confidence, leveraging strengths, and breaking through these barriers, as well as their own experiences and insights into managing work-life integration and practical approaches to achieving professional goals while maintaining personal well-being.
