Louis Stokes Scholars Complete Summer Legal Internships at Tucker Ellis
August 2017
Two Louis Stokes Scholars – Dairian Heard and Raymond Robinson – have completed their 2017 summer legal internships at Tucker Ellis. Brandon Cox and Paul Janowicz mentored Dairian and Raymond, assisted by paralegal Cheryl Bunevich.
Dairian is graduate of Georgetown College and Cleveland Early College High School. This past year she was an AmeriCorps Ohio College Guide with College Now. Dairian is a recipient of the 2010 Cleveland Mock Trial Outstanding Attorney Award.
Raymond is a rising sophomore at Morehouse College majoring in biology. He is a graduate of Cleveland School of Architecture & Design High School. Raymond is a recipient of the 2016 Cleveland Mock Trial Outstanding Attorney Award.
The Louis Stokes Scholars program is an award-winning pipeline diversity program of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) created in 2012 by Carter Strang – then serving as CMBA president – with a goal of increasing diversity in the legal profession. It places Cleveland and East Cleveland Metropolitan School District graduates who want to become attorneys in paid summer legal internships at local law firms/offices, legal nonprofits, and in the courts.
