On February 27, Derek Mason participated as a guest speaker at The  Johns Hopkins University – Carey Business School. The discussion – presented as a virtual fireside chat to the school’s pharmaceutical strategy class – revolved around a variety of IP law topics, including the development of patent portfolios in startup pharmaceutical companies. In particular, Derek focused on lessons learned from his experience with startups (what CEOs often fail to consider) and how an IP portfolio is developed as a startup progresses in developing its product.
