Carter Ostrowski leverages his background in mechanical engineering to advise on and protect the intellectual property of clients across a variety of industries.
Carter counsels and assists clients in securing, protecting, clearing, and licensing intellectual property, with a particular focus on patents. His experience includes preparing provisional and non-provisional patent applications, procuring patents and trademarks, drafting infringement and freedom to operate opinions, and reviewing license agreements. With an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, he applies his technical knowledge to serve the IP needs of clients in a variety of industries.
During his last year of law school, Carter interned at his school’s Patent and Trademark Clinic, where he provided pro-bono patent drafting and prosecution services for people in the Cincinnati area. Prior to law school, Carter worked on piping, pumping and heating systems, and heavy-lift machinery as an engineering intern at a nuclear power plant.
Carter lives in Cleveland with his fiancée. An avid swimmer, he enjoys exercising in his free time, as well as trying new bars and restaurants, playing video games with his younger siblings, and watching Cleveland Cavaliers basketball.
