On December 17, John Slagter discussed land use and zoning law at the Ohio State Bar Association’s 29th Annual Bradley J. Schaeffer Real Property Institute. In a live interactive webinar, John addressed the underlying tension of balancing fundamental constitutionally protected property rights with the responsibility of local government to regulate in the interest of the public’s health, safety, and welfare. John explored areas including constitutional and legal framework, zoning/site plan process, variances, conditional/special use permits, zoning amendment, and appeals and legal challenges.
